3 Days Capacity Building Programme on Integrated Farming of Livestock, Fish, Vegetables, and Oilseeds Organized at ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Tripura Centre

        A three-day Capacity Building Programme on Integrated Farming of Livestock, Fish, Vegetables, and Oilseeds was organized at Bagma, Gomati, Tripura, benefiting over 200 farmers (18-20 Feb, 2025). Organized by ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, in collaboration with Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited, it focuses on sustainable agriculture. Chief guests, including Hon’ble MLAs Sri Jitendra Majumder and Shri Rampada Jamatia, emphasized integrated farming’s role in income growth and food security. Dr. B. U. Choudhury, Head, ICAR-Tripura Centre, highlighted that this initiative will not be limited to just three days but will continue throughout the year to assess the impact of the introduced technologies. Experts like Dr. K. K. Satpathy, Former Director, NIRJAFT and Dr. Mrinmay Datta, Former Joint Director discussed sustainable agriculture, mechanization, and enhanced crop cultivation techniques for long-term benefits. Shri S. R. Baruah, Former AAO, ICAR-RC for NEH Region, shared an overview of the role of ICAR-RC for NEH Region over the past 50 years in uplifting farmers across the North Eastern Hill Region of India. Essential agricultural inputs, including piglets, mushroom spawn, chicks, planting materials, fertilizers, lime, fish fingerlings, and fish feed, were distributed to farmers under the NEH Components, supported by ICAR-IIAB, Ranchi; ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal; and ICAR-IIOR, Hyderabad.
